IFT testing for Schiphol Airport newly built A-Pier

October 29, 2021

You may know or may not know about this, but Entelec has been conducting a joint project with the Airport of Amsterdam, Schiphol. This project aims at improving the safety management situation and decreasing potential fire hazards on the newly built site of the airport.

A couple of weeks ago, our office in Rotterdam proudly received a committee of specialists in order to test together with the integrated interface between the Bosch FPE-8000 panel which is the central component of the fire panel, and our Sky-Walker open integration platform. The main functions of the FPE-8000 fire panels are alarm indication, operation and processing of messages, overviewing of evacuation zones and outputs, saving and printing messages. All of these aim at improving the fire prevention and detection of events.

In 2020, Entelec proudly won the tender to deliver a brand new IMSB (Interactive Management System Fire Panel). This tender included compulsory up-front testing for the A-Pier project. Therefore, all integrations have been tested by the committee. Entelec received a mock-up of the fire panel which will be installed at the airport in our Rotterdam office in order to perform those tests. We, then, connected it with the server and the operational client of Sky-Walker.

During this special day, we performed several kinds of tests such as connecting Sky-Walker with the fire panel, creating and restoring communication failures between the panel and the program, resetting the fire panel using Sky-Walker, isolating smoke detector via Sky-Walker or starting evacuation procedure. At the end of the day, the execution was crowned with high success and will bring our collaboration to the next phase.

The integration which we created is meant to be used in the newly build A-Pier on the airport site. The building of this new pier has been going on for some time now. However, the opening is planned for mid-2022. Keep in touch with us to follow the next steps of this project.

Healthcare is changing fast... Technology now plays a bigger role in how doctors diagnose, treat, and support patients. Among all innovations, Artificial Intelligence stands out as one of the most promising. Everyone knows AI is shaping industries like finance and retail, but in healthcare, its impact reaches deeper. AI helps doctors make faster, more accurate decisions, reduces pressure on staff, and gives patients better outcomes. From analysing complex data to improving hospital efficiency, AI is becoming a trusted tool in daily medical practice. The following sections show how AI supports smarter decisions, improves diagnostics, cuts paperwork, and helps hospitals deliver better care. AI strengthens care by supporting people and giving them the tools to act with speed and precision. Harvard even offers a dedicated program for healthcare professionals to learn more about implementing AI effectively in clinical settings.
