PSIM+ or PSIM software platform

What is PSIM+ software?

The difference between a classic PSIM and a PSIM+ integration platform

A PSIM+ platform is built on a classic PSIM platform

A PSIM+ software platform had the same base as a regular PSIM platform. As you know, or don't know, PSIM stands for Physical Security Information Management. This means that the goal of a classic PSIM platform is to maximize security, and as a result also safety and even comfort. Classic PSIM systems like fire detection and intrusion detection are integrated into one central PSIM platform.

But these days, integrating only those classic PSIM systems into the platform is not enough. With new technologies surfacing every year, the possibilities for integrating new types of systems are rising. Communication systems are added in the mix, as well as the IT infrastructure.

Is a PSIM+ platform the same as a smart building?

It could be, but not necessarily. The "smart" in smart building means that the software platform, or the "building" is able to make certain decisions itself. Think for example of the lights switching of at a certain degree of outside sunlight. No human interaction is needed to make the decision to switch of the lights. In our PSIM+ platform Sky-Walker these smart interactions can be made easily, thus creating the smart buildings. But that just some programming, the software is not changed at all to go from a PSIM+ platform to a smart building platform. What's in a name, you might be thinking, and you're right.

A PSIM+ platform is just a regular, classic PSIM platform, with added system integration that don't fall between the regular "PSIM" brackets.
